On the occasion of the Lorentz Workshop “The Future of AI: Ethical, Legal and Societal Issues”, that takes place from 28 January to 1 December, the workshop organisers together with ALLAI, cordially invite you to the public closing event of the workshop on February 1 from 15.00 – 16.30 pm.

In the near future, we will all experience Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications making decisions and acting in a wide range of domains, including transportation, finance, health-care, education, public safety and security, entertainment, manufacturing, and others. AI applications increasingly act as autonomous actors that can make independent decisions of which the justification is often hard or impossible to understand. The greater impact of decisions by AI systems means that not only a multi-disciplinary approach to design and use of AI is needed but also that a continuous global debate should be maintained with all stakeholders.

During the event, the main results of the Lorentz Workshop will be presented, and a multidisciplinary group of experts will discuss the ethical, societal and ethical impact and position of AI systems, about possible governance models and about the European position on the research and development of AI technology.
